What version is that?Īs of replying, I can only see download links for beta versions of version 18. Its really a pain if I got proficient with the program, but I don't agree with the pricing like Adobe and Sony where you have to pay for every new version or a monthly plan.īonus Tip2: I'm buying via their website, since I can't find a retailer near my location. What is the local database? Do I have to backup my whole "Working Folders" directory?īonus tip: Thanks, I'm actually learning it and I'm asking about the license so if I like it, I know the prices. For now I'm working with 4k60 videos and rendering takes a long time with my Ryzen 7 2700X. I also want to make use of the GPU Acceleration and GPU rendering, since I experience lagging when playing a video in a project and rendering takes a long time.

Previously, I've been using Kdenlive, and it was unstable, sometimes it crashes unexpectedly, and I'll have to redo project all over again. And no this isn’t due to render caching I checked that.īasically my advice would be to wait to upgrade until it’s more stable.I'm planning to work with 4k 120Hz gameplay videos and I'm also planning to get the Samsung S22 Ultra which can film at 8k. I have a recurring issue where resolve tells me clips are missing but will play back the clips and renders them fine. It eventually chugs through them but at a huge render time penalty. DaVinci Resolve is a color grading, color correction, visual effects, and audio post-production video editing application for macOS, Windows, and Linux. Resolve has no problem render caching the titles but render during export is a problem.Īlso videos with Alpha layers are an issue for Resolve 17. A work around I have found is to render cache your transitions and titles and then export with the setting to use render cache images selected. Even though these clips aren’t visible when the video is played back Resolve is still processing them and it flat out crashes during export. Make sure you don’t have any clips beneath the visible clips in your timeline where you have a transition or title. The new titles and transitions are really nice but there’s some major issues to be worked out.

Just to update this thread I’ve been using Resolve 17 Beta extensively and have to report that it is wildly unstable once you get more complex edits.įor light editing it seems to be fine except the new transitions and title effects.
